Vahid Arefi is a queer Iranian American writer from Michigan working in sustainability. They studied Mechanical Engineering with concentrations in creative writing, sustainable engineering, and energy at the University of Michigan and completed an MFA in Creative Writing at West Virginia University. They received the University of Michigan College of Engineering Cooley Writing Prize for Fiction and Nonfiction. They’re living in Chicago, where they love the water and don’t mind the cold.
